Sakata Bug up close

My son found this Sakata bug in the yard today. As he captured it, it made it's tale-tale sound/noise. We put it on the side walk and took some macro photos of it. The wings almost look like the veins of a leaf. And the three little 'eyes' in the front - what are those??
Behind it's eye on the head are a whole bunch of those little white things, that remind me of little insects on this little insect. Unfortunately they are too small for my camera. This whole bug is about 1" long. Those little yellowish-white things are in the thousands of an inch or maybe even smaller.

Flowers and Baby Birds

These little birds have made a burrow nest in a planter on my porch. The eggs are about the size of a quarter. There are also two very newly born baby birds in with the eggs.

This is from the flower in the front yard. It has these five distinct red "somethings" at the end and it's quite amazing how this flower closes itself at night and then opens with the morning sunshine.

This is a different flower, but in the same planter, and there's a tiny ant visible in the flower.

Gecko

Somehow or another my wife 'picked up' a Gecko the other day.
So, being the compassionate person that she is .. she 'hosted' the little fellow for a while until disappeared somewhere .. inside .. outside .. doesn't really matter; because these little fellows can walk through doors and walls.

So while he was 'hosted' I took some shots with my handy-dandy macro that continues to impress me with the clarity. For amateur macro-photography, this Canon PowerShot A710 IS has proven to be an exceptional lense.

The attached photos are of the Gecko. His head was no more than a half inch long, and his eyes maybe 3/32 nds of an inch - very small.

The eye's are just amazing!!!
